So this seems to be the right thread.

Listening to the latest 1874 podcast

Quote
Conor Hourihane in conversation: The Dr Tony era explained

https://open.spotify.com/episode/3pbdbgz43LXyXtsa8cqGsq?si=2SCe2QOWSvyI-MjKIGJWBA

Is a fairly shocking tale of quite surreal attempted influence, credit taking, worrying access and general utter mess that explains an awful lot…

It’s probably a video & available lots of other places etc, but I felt merited a listen / mention here.

Thanks for posting this. Should be a verey interesting listen.

What a strange time.

We were so desperate to find a buyer in the arse-end of the Lerner years its no surprise we ended up with one of the first chancers to rock up.

For all the recent frustrations about the matchday experience and ticket prices, at least the current owners are serious people.....

If the story about Xia consulting Dan Bardell, then as now just a fan (even if he was vaguely connected to the club at the time), about team matters is true it is just bizzare.

If you want to know what was said on the podcast and are using a mac or iphone, open the apple podcast app, find the episode, and select 'transcript'.

I remember we had scouts in somewhere like Australia that no one had ever met or had a report from.

Bit like me when i used to work for the BBC.

Nobody saw me, nobody spoke to me, nobody knew who I was. I got away with it for two years.

Good lad paulie. A no-show job. I’ve only got a no-work one. Things will be different when I get made.
