Do any of the Preston locals know anywhere I can store luggage in the town centre?
Evening Villains,Well it's been a while since we met in the league, or at all tbh so I'm extending my blue and white hand to any Villa fans in need of a good pint of ale and/or food before Saturday's game. The Moorbrook on North Road (PR1 1NR) is by far Preston's finest pub and 10-15mins walk from the railway station and the same again to Deepdale (a good halfway point). A taxi from the station will cost you £5 and for those in a car/coach/minibus there is a huge car park to the rear courtesy of a recently closed B&Q at £1 for 12hrs.With 7 cask pumps and 5 keg taps there is a wide and varied selection of real and craft ales from all over the UK and beyond including a house pale brewed by Blackjack Brewery. For non ale drinkers there is a specially brewed Belgium house pilsner, bottled German pilsners and wheat beers, Thatcher's Cider, Stella 4 and a range of wine and spirits. Think of it as Preston's version of The Craven Arms near New Street. The current lineup includes ale from Hardknott, Blackjack, Wiper & True, Tiny Rebel, First Chop, Burton Bridge and Windswept breweries.Food wise the landlord has recently installed a wood fired oven and from there serves homemade pizzas cooked to order before your very eyes. Pizzas are £5 or £7 with a pint of cask/pilsner. There are also crisps, nuts, scratchings and other snacks available from the bar.If you want to check the place out yourselves go to @themoorbrook on Twitter or The Moorbrook on Facebook.See you on Saturday.PS try and avoid any police escorts or recommendations, you'll end up in some crappy chain and/or student pub.
Thanks Mr Landlord! lolTo be fair it sounds very good. See you Saturday.
Ta, that's just the ticket is that.
Thanks PNEfan, I live in Longton and didn't know about the Moorbrook. Enjoy the game!
