Although I've been to Boston many times, this is the first occasion when I've stayed in a hotel in the Fenway/Kenmore area.

I have a suite on the top floor overlooking Fenway Park. Don't worry, its not really that posh because the rooms also have a uninterrupted view of the Mass Pike !!

I had lunch there on the day of the shooting.

That afternoon after the ballgame, I went to the Hockey Hall of Fame. About 6pm I was walking up Younge Street towards the Eaton Centre with the plan to eat there. However, I decided that I'd go to Gretsky's instead, so hung a left on King Street. Therefore, I was probably a few hundred yards away when the shooting happened.

Two games down here in Boston and two close defeats for the Sox.

The Sox lineup is very week without Jacoby and Carl. A-Gon is also pretty crap at the moment. He was dropped to 6th in the order tonight.

In good news, due to a Natinals' rain-out earlier in the week, I'll now get to see Stephen Strasburg pitch.

Someone had to go in order for Dice-K to be added to the 25 man roster. The Sox had been carrying an extra outfielder since they sent down Daniel Bard (after his Toronto meltdown) and activated Darnell McDonald from the DL.

Byrd was the obvious guy to be DFA'd.

I've been really impressed with the Natinals the past two days. Harper was superb yesterday and Strasburg lives up to the hype.

Gio Gonzalez dominated today. The Nats have one hell of a rotation at the moment and are even able to have Detweiler in the pen and Lannan parked at AAA.

The Sox are now back under .500. They really are an average side this season. Youk is struggling and Pedroia is clearly still injured. The outfield, as mentioned, in earlier posts is a MASH unit of hasbeens and neverwillbes.

However, al least A-Gon seems to be coming out of his slump and Middlebrooks/Salty give some hope for the future.

It looked for a moment that the Sox might grab a win and go back to .500. However, a Harper walk and a Bernadina double gave the Natinals the lead in the 9th.

The Nats are for real.

I expect that I'm in for more Sox defeats when I get to Miami tomorrow

They were completely flat last night.

The ballpark itself is OK but there's almost non-stop music. Its not just between every at bat, its between every pitch.
