This was a series that I looked at attending but I was already booked up for the Waters gig tonight and, of course, the end of season Villa victory over Liverpool.

Seeing the Cubs at Fenway would have been great.

The way that the Sox' offense is playing at the moment, they should be able to handle the Cubs. However, this run can't lat forever and the Sox are also struggling for starting pitching. Add to that, Daniel Bard's appearances from the bullpen are starting to worry me almost as much as Papelbon's.

Bard gave up back-to-back homers last night and then Pap loaded the bases in the ninth. Good to see Crawford coming thro' with the walk-off hit.

Well I think the sox will win 2-1 in the series, we are desperately in need of good pitching and give it another season we should be a reasonable division contender again, we just swept the marlins but that isn't saying much, It would be great to be there as they haven't met since 1918 but it would need some open wallet surgery after!

I even managed to get a win for my Fantasy team out of Jon Lester, which wasn't to be expected when giving up 5 runs and 12 hits over 6 innings.

I was watching it and there was a great atmosphere, the sox bats got hot and the cubs couldn't keep going. I still think it the sox will win the series 2-1 but we need some pitchers.

I see that the Sox have designated Daniel Nava for assignment. Still, if he never makes it back to the Majors, he'll always be remembered for hitting a Grand Slam on the first ever pitch he saw.

All right people, we got 10 minutes 'till game time, let's all gather 'round. I'm not much for giving inspirational addresses, but I'd just like to point out that every newspaper in the country has picked us to finish last. The local press seems to think that we'd save everyone the time and trouble if we just went out and shot ourselves. Me, I'm for wasting sportswriters' time. So I figured we ought to hang around for a while and see if we can give 'em all a nice big shitburger to eat!
