Give this man a new contract now

Saw this earlier in the week and really admired his attitude. He obviously loves it here and wants to stay:

Despite the result, always a pleasure to get the opportunity to wear the Villa shirt, the fans were immense!

I will always be ready to perform and fight for my place in the team #UTV

Looking at that video, two things occurred to me:1) what a lovely bloke and 2) fucking hell he's a big unit!

Yes, if performance is the reason for selection.

I'll feel a little sad for Axel though, as he's done little wrong.

That's just the ups and downs of football. But hopefully in any case Dean has instilled in them that this is a squad game this season, with everybody having to play their part.

Think based on this season so far, all the central defenders have been getting a decent run out. I'd happily have Axel & Kourtney signed up for a bit longer. We could have a solid, stable defence for years to come with them & Emi 1.

Agreed - we've got really good options in defence now.

When you think that the fees paid for Mings, Hause, Konsa, Cash and Targett combined was less than Man Utd paid for Maguire alone, we've done some really good business in this department over the last couple of years.

Yep whichever way you look at that it’s an impressive piece of work

Kortney is a beast in the air… as others have said we good choices at CB.
Let’s sign Axel permanently now.
