1982 European Cup Heroes
« on: December 12, 2024, 09:35:04 PM »
Had one of the best moments of my near 49 year Villa supporting life today. Met Mr Dennis Mortimer - Club Captain and Legend. Had his pic with the cup in my study for years. Sir Brian was also there in the Villa shop this evening one of the few managers to ever win a trophy with the same club and as a player.

Took some great pics with them, they signed my 150 year book too.

So happy! Both really lovely blokes in the flesh.

One thing Dennis Mortimer said that enraged me about Herbert. During Herberts time here, none of the 82 team were treated how legends should be. He asked Steve Stride for tickets to come to the ground and had to go turnstiles instead of the VIP, Directors or Players lounge, you know like Legends of the Club should do. He also was refused a coaching position by the Club.

I think we should rename the Witton Stand.

I wish we could just blot out the Ellis years from our history.

Dennis is brilliant. Whatever the subject, he can bring it round to Ellis within seconds.
