Only Potts, Bethel and Tongue playing in the day night warm up match. 3 players who have practically zero chance of playing in the next test match.

England deserve to lose this series 5-0

Ultimately they have to win the next game, and this decision just means they’ll be slaughtered if they don’t.

England face debutants Italy at 2026 T20 World Cup - https://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/articles/cly1r1wjwxlo

If England don't get through that group they should really just give up cricket.

I wonder if the batsmen (don't laugh) have apologised yet to the bowlers for failing to give them a proper rest between innings. Thirty overs isn't a long time to recover from bowling in hot conditions. No wonder they looked off the pace second time round.

I thought he'd break down in the first Test so he's beaten that expectation. Advantage of a two day Test.

Yeah not ideal. Tongue not finding much wicket taking penetration in Canberra.

Wood's completely unreliable and has been his entire career.

Wood has been the complete one match wonder and lived on that for years. A liability since then.

We probably needed to replace 1 of the quicks with a spinner anyway and he was probably the weakest bowler in the first test so not a huge problem really.

I’d be surprised if we play a spinner in the pink ball game.

I thought that was the 3rd test not this one (I really haven't been paying much attention to the fixtures this time), in that case I'd go with Potts not Tongue.
