Might have been Joe_C then.

Possibly, I think Elizabeth Olsen is more CD's cup of tea.

She's a handsome girl but probably relatively unlikely to participate in the European Athletics Championship.

Olsen sounds Nordic, I'm sure they can find a way to fit her in.

Popped the athletics on half an hour and Britain have won three golds in that time. Not bad.

Second placed Ethiopian Yomif Kejelcha also ran in it in under 2 hours, amazing.

As someone who now finds a 30.minute parkrun increasingly out of reach, a sub-2 hour marathon beggars belief.

It's easy when you're running through a lawless Islamist no-go area. The poor lad must've been terrified.

It looks like the new Adidas trainers played their part. All of the top 3 in the marathon were wearing them yesterday, and they made them much lighter and springier than the previous iteration. I think I read that for elite athletes, the new shoes were saving about 1% in running economy, which over two hours is about a minute, and that's what Sawe knocked off the old world record.

Obviously there's a lot more to it than that, and Sawe is genuinely a Usain Bolt-like freak for long distance running, but the shoes certainly helped.

4 minute mile pace for a marathon is absolutely insane.

I've just applied as a volunteer for the European Athletics Champs in August.

Got a job driving. What or who I will be driving I have no idea.

So it'll be no sleeping on the job for you!
