Lower Trinity Road Stand legend and my friend of many years, Tom Brookes, died this morning at the age of 80.
Tom was a Villa season ticket holder for decades, even during the years when he lived in the the west of Ireland (hence his user name for occasional posts on H & V) and flew over for games.
Tom was also at most away games for many years, including European matches and pre-season tours
In recent years, Tom and his wife Val became regulars for Villa Women home games.
As well as Villa, Tom was a lifelong supporter of Celtic and Scotland.
I’ll miss my chats with Tom.
